PRODUCTION OF FISH AND FISH PRODUCTS IN RUSSIA 
  • Russian manufacture of fish and fish products in total showed stable growth till 2011, however in 2012 volumes of these products output reduced by *% to *,97 mln. t.  
  • The major part of Russian manufacture of fish and fish products in 2009-2012 was constituted by output of *** and live, fresh or cooled fish - its aggregate share amounted to 72%.  At that about **% was constituted by the share of frozen fish.  Presence of *** in 2009 – 2012 fluctuated within 8-10 p.p. 

ANALYSIS OF EXPORT OF FISH AND FISH PRODUCTS 
  • Russian export of fish and fish products increased sharply in volumes since 2009 (*,4 times).  This is due to growing volumes of fishing on the territory of Russia.   In 2012 volume of fish products directed for sales to the foreign market amounted to *,36 mln t (-1% in comparison to 2011). 
  • According to experts of the market, there is a number of objective factors affecting slowdown of rates of Russian export of fish and fish products.  Crisis in Europe resulted in reduction of purchasing power along with *** are among them. 
  • Structure of Russian export of fish and fish products by types in 2007-2012 changed significantly.  Namely, share of *** fish grew – by 18 p.p. At that shares of other segments reduced.

ANALYSIS OF IMPORT OF FISH AND FISH PRODUCTS 
  • volume of fish and fish products imported in 2008 – 2011 reduces gradually.  In 2011 import volume reduced by **,5% in comparison to 2010 and amounted to *59,2 ths. t. In 2012 the situation changed:  import deliveries grew by *% to *16,3 ths. t, that is connected with Russia accession to the WTO.  
  • In 2012 *** fish formed a base of Russian import of fish and fish products (**,3%).  The second category by import volume was fresh and cooled fish (**,7%), the third - fish fillet, minced fish and other fish meat (**,1%).  Import of *** constituted 11,3% of the structure.  The least shares belonged to dried, salted or in pickle, hot or cold smoked (**%) and live fish (0,1%).
